ABSTRACT
Amendments to the Polish anti-tobacco Act implemented on the
timeline gradually introduce increased protection for persons
under 18 years of age. These changes, introduced under the
influence of international and EU law, extend the scope of the
ban on selling nicotine products to youth, and introduce other
related obligations (verification and information obligations). The
study objective was to assess effectiveness of provisions. Legal
analysis and survey on violations was performed. Despite the
positive legislative trend, the current state of the regulation cannot
be considered optimal. Presented research indicates the direction
of further legal changes in the scope of limiting the provision of
nicotine products to persons under 18 years of age, which would
contribute to making the Polish regulation more effective, in line
with global trends in the fight against nicotine addiction.
